African Safari August 2019

 August, 2019

At the end of the nineteenth century, explorers and adventurers made their way leisurely along the dusty paths of Africa, allowing the great continent to seep into their souls. More than a hundred years later it’s your turn, and traveling to Africa has thankfully become much easier and more luxurious.

Day 1          15 August     Arrive Kilimanjaro International Airport – one night at the 5-star Four Points by Sheraton Arusha Hotel, surrounded by the ambience of a bygone era.

Day 2          16 August     Drive through Lake Manyara, stopping to see animals on the way to the 5-star Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, located on the rim of the largest intact caldera in the world.  Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3         17 August  Spend a full day game driving on the floor of the Crater and return to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for the night.  B/L/D

Day 4         18 August Drive to Arusha and fly on to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport where you’ll spend one night in a 4-5 star Nairobi hotel (I’m talking with Macushla House) B/L included – dinner on your own account

Day 5         19 August  Morning flight to a Conservancy in the Maasai Mara where you’ll spend the night in the 5-star Ilkeliani, a permanent tented camp on the Talek River, where elephant come to drink.   B/L/D

Day 6         20 August  Full day of game driving in this wilderness area, returning to Ilkeliani Camp for the night.  Or perhaps you’d like to experience a guided bush walk.  B/L/D

Day 7         21 August  Vehicle transfer across the Maasai Mara, game viewing along the way to Little Governors’ Camp. Adjacent to the Mara River and tucked into the edge of a forest, this 5-star permanent tented camp overlooks a natural watering hole frequented by many animals including elephant, gazelles, impala, and more.  B/L/D

Day 8         22 August  Optional morning hot air balloon experience (additional cost) and bush breakfast or morning game drive (included).  Return to camp for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive.  Return to Little Governors’ Camp for the night B/L/D

Day 9         23 August  Morning and afternoon game drives in the world famous Maasai Mara, the most game-intense area in East Africa. Return to Little Governors’ Camp for the night B/L/D

Day 10        24 August After breakfast at the camp, fly to Nairobi and enjoy some sight-seeing and shopping before being transferred to a (private) day room at Eka Hotel. Then transfer to Jomo Kenyata International Airport for your return flight to the U.S.  B/L included.  Dinner on your own account.  There are nice, casual dining venues at the hotel.

Space is limited on this deluxe East Africa safari. Get your name in and hold your space early to avoid missing out on this experience.
